A Perfect Snow Day

Friday, March 6, 2015

Mr.Bruce loves the snow!

                                                                   Love this little pup!

Scotty made us homemade cappuccinos! They were amazing!

Bruce couldn't stay awake for our movie marathon.

I love snow days especially when I can spend them with my husband and my pup! We played in the snow, made lunch together, had a movie marathon, and made cappuccinos for dessert. I'd say it was a perfect snow day!

Last week we had another snow storm here in Kentucky. I've been trying so hard to remind myself that spring is just around the corner and I need to start wearing bright colors again! What better way to bring color into your wardrobe but with Lilly Pulitzer!

Our 2015 Bucket List

Scotty and I have been able to do, and see, a lot together in the last 8 years. We love getting to explore new places and try new things together, but in the last year we have been so busy with school and work that it's been hard to do a lot of the things we've been wanting to do. So this year we decided we would make a "bucket list" of all the things that we would like to do throughout the year.

Below are some of the adventures we've gone on in the last couple years.

Here are the Top 10 of our 2015 Bucket List!

Bruce's 2nd Birthday

Monday, February 23, 2015

Sunday we celebrated our little pups 2nd birthday! Bruce spent his birthday playing in the snow, helped bake pupcakes (he licked the bowl), played with his new toys, and ended his day with a good nights sleep. I'd say he had a pretty good birthday!

Here are a few snapshots of Bruce's birthday and the recipe for Bruce's Confetti Pupcakes.

Bruce's Confetti Pupcakes

Recipe
Makes 8 pupcakes

1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 cup plain yogurt
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp honey
1 large egg
1/3 cup grated carrot
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 cup bell peppers ( mix red & green )

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line muffin tins with 8 cupcake liners. In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda. In a small bowl, blend together yogurt, oil, honey, and egg, then stir in carrot, cheese, and bell peppers. Add the wet mixture to the flour and stir until mixed.

Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each cup about 3/4 full of the batter. Bake in oven for about 15-20 minutes ( you can check the pupcakes by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake, if it comes out clean they are done). Let pupcakes cool in tin for 5 minutes and then remove and set aside till it's time to decorate.

Honey Peanut Butter Frosting

1/2 cup of cream cheese ( half a package )
2 tbsp peanut butter
2 tbsp honey
